Could I use a reg. latex paint as a base coat instead of the tuscan accents base coat and get the same effect?

The Tuscan Accents base coat is very expensive and I was thinking about using a latex based coat instead but I didn’t want to compromise the effect either. So, I’m in limbo of what to do.

You can do all of the effect with regular paint, you just need to get the color matched(obviously) but the main thing is the sheen. You need to find out what the base is so you can match. Some of the new techniques don’t require a sheen but most all techniques need an eggshell or satin to work over. Find out first and then go have fun!
