Question by aleje23: Does anyone have any great ideas for a tuscan-themed wedding?
I am getting married next September and the theme is Tuscan/Italian. Does anybody have any ideas for decorations, favors ,etc. I am also on a nice little budget..lol…so I would like cheap but elegant

When I think of Italian, I think of wine and romance (well, that’s second to awesome food). So, I would go with a wine motif for the tables. You could have a wine bar, use corks as place cards, you can have wine favors.

For your centerpieces you can do something with wine bottles, grapes and vines. It would be fairly easy to put something like that together for a good price:

Lots of sunflowers in hand-tied bouquets. You can get them at most grocery store florists this time of year and tie them yourself with florist’s wire and ribbon from any craft store. Have your bridesmaids use them for the ceremony, then toss them casually into the middle of the tables for centerpieces at the reception. Glass jars filled with flowers, plain white linens, mismatched crockery from discount department stores and thrift shops make great decorations, too.
An Italian tradition is to give little packages of almond for good luck.
Rent the movie, Under the Tuscan Sun. You can get great decorating ideas from it.
An outdoor, backyard reception would be lovely, weather allowing.
Load your IPod with French and Italian instrumental music.
Wear flowers(especially lavender, for luck) in your hair.
